Country Hills Animal Clinic is a full-service, small animal veterinary hospital in south Torrance, California providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. Located in the Country Hills Shopping Center, we have served the South Torrance and Palos Verdes Penninsula for over 30 years.










Country Hills Animal Clinic has again received accreditation following a comprehensive evaluation by the American Animal Hospital Association on January 28, 2010. This evaluation includes a quality assessment review of the hospital's facility, medical equipment, practice methods and pet health care management. Only 15 percent of all small animal veterinary practices in the U.S. have achieved accreditation. Country Hills Animal Clinic is proud to be an accredited hospital for thirty years.

 









 

 

We see appointments between 8:30 and 11:30 in the mornings and again from 3:00 to 5:00 in the afternoons. From 12:00 to 3:00 is when the doctors do their surgeries. If you call the doctors while they are with a client or in surgery, they will return your call during breaks in the appointments the very same day. The Doctors are normally available for emergencies until 10:00 pm each day. After that time when you call our regular number, you will be referred to our two emergency clinics. 





 

 

 


Our hospital is equipped with the latest in medical equipment to assist us in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease and injury of our pets. As one of the few hospitals in the South Bay offering laser surgery, we can offer surgery with less pain, swelling, bleeding and recovery time for your pets. All anesthetic patients are continuously monitored with an EKG heart monitor, blood pressure and respiratory monitors.  We offer comprehensive dental care including routine dental cleaning, cavity treatment, digital xrays and root canals when necessary.








 

Well known in the South Bay for his orthopedic surgeries, Dr. Smith has just completed the Kyon Plating System training and offers the latest technological advances in plating for orthopedic fracture repair and corrective osteotomies.  

 

Our exam rooms allow us to provide physical examinations and discuss any medical problems you have with your pets.

 

 












 

Our treatment areas allow us to efficiently treat any medical conditions as well as maintain a constant watch over our critical patients. All patients are electronically monitored continously while under anesthesia.

 

We also have our own internal laboratory for rapid test results, a digital xray machine for quick radiographic analysis, as well as the latest in ultrasound, endoscopic and laser technology for accurate diagnosis and treatment.  

 

  
 










Early detection of health problems can help our pets lead a healthy and long life. Our clinic is proud to sell prescription diets by Science Diet, Purina and Eukanuba for cats and dogs. Ask our trained dietitians which variety is best for your pet. 
 





 

 

 

We should be able to provide you with any prescribed medications your pet will need. If not, we can give you a written prescription to take to your pharmacy. We ask that you give us 24 hours notice if you need any prescriptions refilled at our clinic. Also be advised that by federal drug laws, we must have examined you pet within the last year in order to refill any prescriptions.













 

For flea control, we are proud to offer Vectra, Sentinel, Comfortis, Program and Capstar for both cats and dogs. A one month's application should keep away fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, lice, sand flies and/or mites. Please ask our staff for more information.

We offer bathing for cats and dogs to help combat fleas and to maintain healthy coats. Call our receptionist for an appointment and drop them off between 8:00 and 9:00 am. They will be ready to go after 3:30 pm the same day.
